v4cloud.pngWelcome to the Layer 3 IPv4  Instructor Led courses!

These courses all focus on IPv4, and Routing, all with detailed hands-on lab experiments to build skills and knowledge.  Several of the courses blend Ethernet and IPv4, which are essential technologies for today's data and computer communications.

The courses are Instructor Led with either Web Based delivery or on-site delivery available.

We offer some online self paced courses in this area as well.  If you are looking for an online, self paced course on Routing, or IPv4 Addressing, or other similar subjects, click here.

The curriculum is shown in the following chart.  Simply scroll down to find the courses below.

Course Registration

There are two ways to register for our Layer 3 IPv4 courses.

1. Private Courses: Your company will provide you with an enrollment key when the course is scheduled.  Simply click on that course below and you will be prompted for an enrollment key.

Knowing the fundamentals of the Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and the TCP/IP protocol suite is vital to anyone who is in the networking field today, whether it be Service Provider level or Enterprise level. This insightful and revealing course has been designed to focus on the systems approach, the engineering thinking, behind the world of IP Networking.

Knowing the fundamentals of Ethernet and the Internet Protocol TCP/IP protocol suite is vital to anyone who is in the networking field today, whether it be Service Provider level or Enterprise level. This 5-day insightful and revealing course has been designed to focus on the systems approach, the engineering thinking, behind the world of Ethernet and IP Networking.  See the course details here.

Knowing the fundamentals of the Ethernet and the Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and the TCP/IP protocol suite is vital to anyone who is in the networking field today, whether it be Service Provider level or Enterprise level. This insightful and revealing course has been designed to focus on the systems approach, the engineering thinking, behind the world of Ethernet and IP Networking.

Advanced understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite, and Internet Protocol network operation/behavior skills are vital to IP network backbone engineers, support engineers / technicians, engineers that test these networks and equipment that is installed in these networks, as well as development engineers.  The course is a combination of knowledge training, systems analysis, with hands-on exercises using Cisco routers and Cisco IOS, designed by CellStream consultants to bring the technician/engineer, who knows a little about IP, to a deeper understanding of five specific protocols and concepts: OSPF, QoS, TCP, and IP Security. A combination of knowledge training, hands-on exercises, and hands-on experience through execution of Command Line interface to Cisco routing labs reveals TCP/IP in a swift, detailed, and understandable way.

Having a good knowledge of Network Security in Wireless and TCP/IP networks is extremely important for anyone in the service provider business. Knowledge and skills with regards to network security are vital to IP network backbone engineers, support engineers/technicians, engineers that test these networks and equipment that is installed in these networks, as well as development engineers.  The course is a combination of knowledge training, systems analysis, with hands-on exercises using Linux based systems, designed by CellStream consultants to bring the technician/engineer, who knows a little about Security, to a deeper understanding of the terms, the tools, and the security issues. A combination of knowledge training, hands-on exercises, and hands-on experience reveals Network Security in a swift, detailed, and understandable way.

Every day, those who work in networking are having to understand the behavior of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).  Whether it is in IPv4 or IPv6, over 90% of network traffic is carried inside TCP.  TCP is perhaps the most complicated protocol on the Internet.  Plus there are multiple versions of TCP in use!  In this course, through hands on exercises, we study the various algorithms and behaviors of TCP by using Wireshark to study and visualize what happens when TCP works, and when it does not work.  Algorithms lick Slow Start, Selective Acknowledgement, Retransmission, are just a couple of examples.  This insightful and revealing course has been designed to focus on the systems approach, the engineering thinking, behind the world of IP Networking.

This Hands On OSPF course dives into the worlds most popular internal gateway protocol.  The course covers the protocol method and communication process that OSPF uses to form adjacencies, then dissects the shortest path first process.  OSPF uses Areas for scalability, and the course explores these capabilities as well.  Finally the course explores some OSPF features such as High Availability all built on GNS3 hands on labs.

The most popular internal gateway routing protocol is the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol.  Having hands-on experience configuring and observing how this protocol works is crucial in operating and IP based network today.  This swift, one day, 8 hr. class uses a "follow me" learning approach to build skills, the student will get a clear understanding of OSPF.

Knowing the fundamentals of the BGP routing protocol is vital to anyone who is in the networking field today, whether it be Service Provider level or Enterprise level. This insightful and revealing course has been designed to focus on the systems approach, the engineering thinking, behind the world of BGP Routing.

The most popular external gateway routing protocol is the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).  BGP is perhaps the most complex protocols of all the routing protocols with many features and policies.  It is impossible to cover everything on BGP in a day, but we will provide a solid understanding of BGP and it's many features in this course.  Having hands-on experience configuring and observing how this protocol works is crucial in operating and IP based network today.  This swift, one day, 8 hr. class uses a "follow me" learning approach to build skills, the student will get a clear understanding of BGP.

This Advanced L3 routing course combines individual topics such as OSPF, BGP, Multicast, VXLAN, ECMP, and other Layer 3 topics into a single two-day hands on lab class.  These issues are ripe for the Data Center network engineers and product developers as these large, complex, multi-tier networks have needed to grow laterally blowing out of the Spanning Tree and VLAN tag capabilities.
