Welcome to our Advanced 1-Day Wireshark Packet Analysis Instructor Led Courses!

We have been using the Wireshark packet dissector and analyzer tool since it was originally released as Ethereal.

As an existing Wireshark user, you know this is perhaps one of the most important tools that anyone working in computer and data networking can learn to use.

Why? Because when you look at the details of the packets, and learn to read them, you learn the protocol operation at the most detailed level.  Think of what a protocol is: it is a method and predefined process which enables information to be exchanged.  We find exposing these details and studying protocol behavior to be both fun, and fascinating.

There are several Advanced 1-Day Wireshark courses offered below, with a differing focus for each one.  The key here is that we assume you have some experience with Wireshark already.  If you don't we have multi-day courses for that.

These classes are offered as Instructor Led classes, either online or on site/in person.

If you are looking for a self paced, online Wireshark basics class, we have one - you will find it here!  We suggest you take that first.

Course Registration

There are two ways to register for our Wireshark courses.

1. Private Courses: Your company will provide you with an enrollment key when the course is scheduled.  Simply click on that course below and you will be prompted for an enrollment key.

2. Public CoursesClick here to register, find the course and time, and register.  You will be provided further information at that time.

This advanced one day, 8 hr. class uses a "follow me" learning approach to build skills in using Wireshark to analyze Voice over IP (VoIP) traffic.  The student will be following the instructor as they examine various packet captures representing potential issues, by customizing Wireshark, and leveraging Wireshark's IP Telephony tools, to determine problem areas via analysis.  See course details here.

This one day, 8 hr. class uses a "follow me" learning approach to build skills in using Wireshark to analyze TCP traffic.  The TCP protocol is notoriously challenging and complex.  While we do not do a deep dive on TCP, we expect that the student will build a considerable knowledge and skill set in TCP.  The student will be following the instructor as they examine various packet captures representing potential issues, by customizing Wireshark, and leveraging Wireshark's filtering and other tools, to determine problem areas via analysis.  See course details here.

This one day, 8 hr. class uses a "follow me" learning approach to build skills in using Wireshark to analyze IPv6 traffic.  The student will be following the instructor as they examine various packet captures representing potential issues, by customizing Wireshark, and leveraging Wireshark's filtering and other tools, to determine problem areas via analysis.  See course details here.

This one day, 8 hr. class uses a "follow me" learning approach to build skills in using Wireshark to analyze Wi-Fi/WLAN traffic.  The student will be following the instructor as they examine various packet captures representing potential issues, by customizing Wireshark, and leveraging Wireshark's filtering and other tools, to determine problem areas via analysis.  See course details here.

This one day advanced Wireshark course uses a "hackathon" approach to learning and practice some of the advanced features of Wireshark packet analysis including advanced capture, graphing, filtering, and name resolution skills.  See course details here.

This one day advanced Wireshark course uses a "hackathon" approach to learning how to troubleshoot HTTP leveraging some of the advanced features of Wireshark including advanced capture, graphing, filtering, and name resolution skills.
