The 4G 101 Foundation course is focused on understanding 4G/LTE terminology and the Evolved Packet System (EPS) architecture. It will compare and contrast LTE with other broadband wireless technologies including 802.11n Wi-Fi and 802.16 WiMAX. The 4G 201 Advanced course will provide a detailed description of how LTE achieves higher data rates. It will also discuss how voice and video over LTE (VoLTE) is enabled. The course will also discuss how roaming is supported between these LTE and other networks including WiFi. In addition it will describe the emerging standards that enable mobile service providers to offload data to Wi-Fi.  See the course details here.

ZigBee is a set of specifications that define how small low power devices communicate. It is a leading standard for the connectivity of wireless sensors, control and monitoring networks for home and industrial automation. Applications include controlling light switches, patient monitoring, smart energy, and traffic management systems.

ZigBee builds on the IEEE 802.15.4 Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) standard, adding network and application layers, as well as application objects and cluster libraries that allow vendors to customize their solution. This course takes a layered approach to explaining how ZigBee networks work. It starts with an explanation of the 802.15.4 layers. It then takes the student through the evolution of ZigBee network layer, covering ZigBee 2007, ZigBee PRO, and ZigBee IP.  See the course details here.
